Hello. Ya’ah’teeh parents, guardians and stakeholders:

Welcome to school year 2021-2022! I am the Indian Education Coordinator for Aztec Schools.

My office has been giving out school supplies since Monday. If your child is in need of assistance for school supplies stop by my office located in the Central Office building at 1118 W. Aztec Blvd. Office hours are from 8am to 4pm. If you cannot make the times, let’s make arrangements just send me an email or text message. The student needs to have a copy of their certificate of Indian blood and/or ED506 form on file in my office to qualify. High school students should compile a list of supplies needed from each of their classes. The supplies will be ongoing until Tuesday, August 31st. The second semester, my office will be giving supplies again should you need a resupply.

My Indian Education Committees are in need of parent representation to fill the roles that are vacated for Johnson O’Malley and the Title VI Indian Education grants. We have a student representative open position for Title VI so inform your high school student. If interested as a parent or student, send me a letter of interest to my email. Deadline will be Friday the 13th by 5pm. J

Yes! The $15 Chromebook insurance fees will be covered for this school year. To be eligible, my office needs a copy of your child’s certificate of Indian blood (CIB) in my office. If your child does not have a CIB, the parent OR grandparent may give a copy of their CIB along with an ED506 form in order to qualify through the Title VI grant. I will be giving the school site secretaries the list of the eligible students that already meet qualifications. Sure, you can pay for your child as well.

Should you have questions or in need of assistance, send me an email or call my office or cell phone. Also, search Facebook for Aztec Schools Native American as well as this site: https://www.aztecschools.com/page/american-indian-education for updates.

Ahe’hee’-Thank you for being with Aztec Schools. Have an inspiring, safe and fulfilling school year!
